Winter is almost over and spring is nearly upon us. I took a writing break after finishing two books back-to-back in 2012 to have some fun in Hawaii, but now I’m back and focused on making 2013 a great year.

With spring comes the re-release of 2nd book: Dare to Love which will be released on March 3rd as an e-book on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or wherever e-books are sold. Dare to Love is the sequel to One Magic Moment and will tell Lexie and Will’s story while catching up with old faves Nia and Damon. To celebrate its re-release, answer 5 questions correctly and you will be entered to win a $50 Spafinder Gift certificate good for spas throughout the country.

In May, my 13th release, Delicious Destiny will debut. This book is part of a new Kimani trilogy in 2013: The Draysons, Sprinkled with Love series. The first book in the series is AC Arthur‘s Decadent Dreams which will debut on March 19th, followed by Farrah Rochon’s Delectable Desire on April 23rd and ending with the conclusion of the trilogy, my book Delicious Destiny on May 21, 2013.

Delicious Destiny will end with Shari Drayson’s story where she’ll reconnect with an old flame and baby daddy while appearing in a baking competition on national TV all the while battling her former best friend and baby daddy’s ex-wife for the win. Sound good? Wait until you read it!

Finally, I will work on the Dare to Love sequel and tell Sebastian’s story that so many fans have been clamoring for. Somehow, someway, I’ll find the time to sneak in his love story this year in the midst of my jam-packed year. Until next time…

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and getting ready for Christmas, Kwanza or whatever holiday you hold dear. I’m a little late myself this year due to my demanding day job, but I’ve been on a mission all weekend to make up for lost time.

I hope everyone is staying cool during one of the hottest summers on record. I’ve been staying cool indoors and curled up with my laptop. I finished my 13th book: Delicious Destiny this month. The book is part of a 3-book continuity starting with AC Arthur’s Decadent Dreams in April 2013, followed by Delectable Desire by Farrah Rochon in May and ending with my book Delicious Destiny in June 2013.

Is spring really over? It seems like it went by so fast. I celebrated the release of my 10th book Lost Without You in Chicago with my family and friends on May 27th. This month, I’ve been working on the cover of my 1st e-book Dirty Laundry. A sneak peak of the cover will be available on the Bookshelf page of my website in a few says. Some editing delays have postponed the release of Dirty Laundry to the fall. Trust me, when I say it was very upsetting to delay, but I would sooner wait and put out a quality book rather than rush and release a book and have bad editing reviews. Dirty Laundry WILL debut this fall. And thanks to some good advice there will be a sequel Can’t Get Enough.

Next up is the release of Formula for Passion the final book in the Adams Cosmetics trilogy on August 20th featuring Courtney Adams and Jasper Jackson. I hope you will find it to be a satisfying conclusion to the Adams Affair trilogy. Stay tuned for details on the next contest in August.

Slow…slow….slow is the progress I’m making on my current project: Delicious Destiny due to my editor on August 1st. The book will be part of a 3-book continuity starting with AC Arthur’s Decadent Dreams next spring, followed by Delectable Desire by Farrah Rochon and ending with my book Delicious Destiny.

Upcoming Plans: I’m sketching out the prequel to Adams Cosmetics trilogy about the parents: Elizabeth and Byron Adams and the antagonist Andrew Jackson. And thanks to many reader requests, I’m also sketching out a story for Sebastian Thompson in the promised sequel from Dare to Love that was never completed.

In celebration of my 10th book my family is throwing me a Milestone 10th book party on Memorial Day weekend. It’s just a week away and I’m super excited.

When I think about all the hours I’ve spent to get here: 2,860 pages and approximately 630,000 words written, I’m amazed at just what I can do when I put my mind to it.

Next week, I start my next adventure working with my designer to create the book cover for my first women’s fiction and 1st e-book: DIRTY LAUNDRY. Given the success of this new market, it was a no brainer to stop chasing the traditional publisher route as I’d done the last couple of years with this book and go direct to e-book. Happy Spring Everyone,

I hope spring showers bring you May flowers because it sure will for me.

First up, I will be heading to Little Rock, AR for Romance Slam Jam on April 12-15th. Romance Slam Jam is the largest conference of African American romance writers and readers. We’ll be attending workshops, reader sessions, and the famous Emma Awards. I will be participating in a panel discussion on writing Sequels, Series and Scenes as well as hosting an Intimate Reader Session with my fans who want to know how I write those steamy, romance novels they can’t get enough of.

As mentioned previously, I was nominated for an RT Book Reviews award for my January 2011 release TWO TO TANGO. The winners of the award will be handed out on April 14th at the RT Book Convention in Chicago. Since I’m not there in person, I will have to keep you posted if I win. If I don’t, it’s an honor just to have been nominated.

On April 17th online and May 1st in bookstores, my 10th book and the second book in the trilogy LOST WITHOUT YOU will debut. VP Shane Adams’ story swirls with blackmail and intrigue surrounding his family’s business, Adams Cosmetics. The book also has a classic make-over love story involving his former nemesis Gabrielle Burton. I’m super excited to reach this milestone and have a special party planned for family and close friends in May. On August 21st online and September 1st in bookstores, the third and final installment of the trilogy FORMULA FOR PASSION will be released. Apparently, readers want to know more about the dynamic Adams family and how the feud with Andrew Jackson got started. Stay tuned for a release date. As far as Amber from This Time Real goes, the character was a close runner-up. Don’t you think she deserves a story? I do. Wow! I already have my 3rd e-book idea! An author’s work is never done and I must get back to writing.

Happy New Year Everyone,

As 2011 came to a close, I look back and am thankful for my health and publishing success. It was a trying first half of the year, but I made it through and am happier and healthier. The last half of the year ended on a high note with an RT Book Reviews award nomination for my January 2011 release TWO TO TANGO, the last book in the Orphan Series. I am extremely honored by the nomination.

2011 ended with the release of NEED YOU NOW my new trilogy “An Adams Affair” in December. It’s the first book in the series and will focus on the CEO and eldest daughter Kayla Adams and her quest to save the family business Adams Cosmetics from millionaire corporate raider Ethan Graham.

Finally, thanks to a new contract, I will have the privilege of bringing you more great stories in 2013.

With the New Year 2012 comes new releases and goals for the year for my alter ego Yahrah St. John. The second story of the “An Adams Affair” trilogy, LOST WITHOUT YOU will unfold on April 17th with the middle child, VP Shane Adams. It will feature a stunning story of blackmail and intrigue surrounding the theft of Adams Cosmetics’ latest fragrance and a classic make-over story of Gabrielle Burton and her love affair with Shane. LOST WITHOUT YOU will be my 10th book which is a huge milestone for me. I’m very proud to achieve that accomplishment.

My Dad threw me a party to celebrate my first book ONE MAGIC MOMENT in late 2004, we jokingly laughed about reaching my 10th book and when that happened he would throw me another party. It seemed like such a far away goal. Well, seven years later….the time has come. Get your party shoes ready, Dad!

The final installment of the “An Adams Affair” trilogy FORMULA FOR PASSION will conclude in September 2012 with youngest daughter COURTNEY ADAMS falling for her family’s arch-enemies’ son, hotelier Jasper Jackson.

My goal for the year is two-fold. To work harder to increase my social networking platform. Working by day and writing by night is a job and a half, but I want to strive to give readers more of what they want and that’s hearing from me more often.

My second goal is to venture out into the world of E-books. I’ve watched what’s happened to Borders by not being ready for the e-book revolution and I’ve watched as authors such as Amanda Hocking have soared in E-books. I should be capitalizing on this market and my first book e-book DIRTY LAUNDRY will debut in March 2012.

DIRTY LAUNDRY was a labor of love that I worked on for nearly a year and after unsuccessful attempts at traditional publishing for my first main-stream women’s fiction book, I’m venturing to E-books. I hope you, my loyal romance readers will follow me on this journey. I think you will find a funny, poignant, yet romantic story in store for you.

Hello Everyone,

October has been a very busy month. In addition to my day job as a commercial office property manager, I write in the evenings and on weekends to bring characters to life. Next month, my ninth book NEED YOU NOW will be released and will signal a new series “An Adams Affair”.  The series will focus on the Adams family (Kayla, Shane and Courtney) and their cosmetics and fragrance empire. There will be lots of twists and turns in this trilogy. NEED YOU NOW will focus on the eldest daughter Kayla Adams and her love story with corporate raider Ethan Graham.

This series will be more cohesive because I conceived it at one time rather than the Orphan Series which developed as I was writing it. The Adams Affair series has a very clear thoroughfare throughout each book. The siblings love their family company: Adams Cosmetics and will fight to preserve the legacy their father Byron Adams built, all the while falling in love with their passionate counterparts.

This month, I completed my tenth book: LOST WITHOUT YOU. I’m very proud and excited that I’ve accomplished a goal I set for myself seven years ago. Now, I have to reach higher and set even bigger goals.
